At Octopus LED Screens, we thrive on pushing boundaries and redefining what’s possible in digital displays. Our latest journey took us to the Killer Rides Custom Bike and Car Show in Wollongong, where we showcased something that had never been seen before: a custom Harley Davidson motorcycle, with all its weight and power, displayed on top of a fully-functional digital LED floor. The reaction? Nothing short of awe. Both the show hosts and guests were blown away by the sight, many calling it one of the most impressive displays at the event. The success of that installation inspired us to take things even further at the Australian Gaming Expo (AGE), where we unveiled an even more ambitious digital LED floor design
We did first at killer rides custom bike and car show in Wollongong, with most guests and the show hosts completely blown away. Never been seen before. The weight of a custom Harley Davidson motorcycle driven and sitting on top of a digital LED display screen. With that success and positive feedback we pushed the limits again by installing a new digital display floor at the AGE (Australian Gaming Expo) but this time the top, sides and bottom were all digital but with a special protective coating over the LED display floor called GOB (glue on board). This way it was much harder to damage the LED diodes/chips. Once we uploaded the videos to the display it was mind blowing and left a long lasting impression on everyone that came past to see the display. The floor measured a massive 3m x 1.5m and had a custom 79 AMF matching numbers all engraved, all chrome, all gold Harley Davidson Sportster.
A New Era in LED Display Floors: Innovation at AGE
For the AGE, we knew we needed to go bigger and bolder. This time, we built a digital floor display where not just the top, but the sides and bottom were all fully digital, creating an immersive LED experience like no other. To protect this intricate display, we applied a specialized protective coating called GOB (Glue on Board) over the LED floor, significantly enhancing durability by shielding the LED diodes and chips from potential impact. This floor was engineered not only to support heavy weights but to resist wear, ensuring that the floor’s visuals remained flawless throughout the event.
Once the display floor was lit up with dynamic video content, the impact was incredible. A 3-meter by 1.5-meter LED marvel, it featured a one-of-a-kind Harley Davidson Sportster—a 1979 AMF model with matching numbers, all chrome and gold, and meticulously engraved to perfection.
Leaving a Lasting Impression
The response at AGE was phenomenal. Visitors were captivated by the seamless blend of innovation and craftsmanship, and the digital floor became a major highlight of the expo. Attendees stopped to marvel, take photos, and engage with the display, and the positive feedback solidified our position as pioneers in the LED display industry.
